Workshop Description: Join us for a unique and enriching workshop aimed at revitalizing the Inupiaq language. This immersive experience will involve:
- Listening to and recording fluent speakers
- Learning the history, status, and structure of the Inupiaq language
- Practicing simple storytelling in Inupiaq
We will focus on language revitalization methods, materials, and techniques, and on strengthening relationships between speakers, teachers, and language learners across generations.
Target Audience: This workshop is open to elders and young people of all ages from the BeringAnchorage officially the Municipality of Anchorage, Read more... Strait region communities who are interested in reclaiming their native dialects.
